Bleeding Brakes and Pedal Feel?

I've filled and bled the braking system - 99% positive no air. Brakes seem to come on OK (only very slight finger pressure to stop dead required when rolling backwards and forwards in the garage). Pedal is not spongy, neither is it hard - it is sort of firmish and will only depress 1/4 of its travel.

I am thinking that this is all ok and the feel will improve when the pads are bedded in to the discs - am I right.

which leads me to another question... presumably you'll have to bed the brakes in prior to SVA... as my test centre is only 10 minutes down the road I'm gonna have to go a very long way round, or is there another way? (no ... not to the test centre!)

Cheers,

Simon

Yes - the brake pedal feel will improve as the pads bed in. Some folks have found that their brakes fail at SVA due to lack of bedding in.

Take it for an MOT before SVA - legal to drive to a pre-booked MOT as long as you have insurance. You may discover that you forgot the quickest way to the MOT test centre...............

Thanks Wilf.

Job done then - no leaks - so the body can go on knowing it won't have to come off to reach those inaccessible leaking unions at the rear.

Cheers,

Simon
