Illegal Over-riders

Has anybody found a way of making illegal over-riders SVA compliant ?

My first thought was maybe fitting a plastic covering around the offending edge, but I'm not sure that this would pass.

Any experiences appreciated.

Cheers

Hi Howard. Long time no speak I'm sure you can get away with rubber edging as long as you silicon it on. The silicon will peel of easily afterwards

Hi Chris, how's it going, where you at Stoneleigh ?

Sounds like a plan then, I just need to find some pliable plastic channel to get around the top and bottom.

Cheers

Yes I was there Things are as good as can be expected these days
I used round section rubber with a groove down it for the side vents and mirror. Plastic would probably be ok though. Maybe warming it in boiling water would help it round the tight radii?.

If I'd known which cobra belonged to you at Stoneleigh I would have said hello, are you going to LeMans ?

I think rubber sounds a better prospect, I'll see what N F Auto has got.

Cheers

Don't fit the over-riders until after SVA

I'd echo that.

Surely the SVA guy will look upon your car more favourably if you don't do too much obvious SVA "dodging".

Hi Chris

Sorry about the stupid question, I'll apologise in person at LeMans.

Cheers

Hi Clive

Yes, it's a valid suggestion, bit I've been told that if the over-riders are not fitted, the holes have to have a rounded edge on them which would reveal the gel coat.

If I can can get away with glueing some edging on I would prefer it, assuming it would be passed by the tester.

Cheers
