Don't go there, you'll damage the bonnet, injure yourself, burn the garage down etc, if it did work, or you'll end up with a warped bonnet with a wierd curve in it that will look much worse than a gap around one edge.

Seriously, with a bit of spacing/packing and a couple of hours you can get the bonnet to fit perfectly without the risk of damaging anything.
