| Hi, Its someone more sensible here. Fuel injecting BMW engines is a speciality of mine. Get yourself along to FAB breakers near Gloucester, either in person or via the interweb thingy, and buy yourself the intank fuel pump and swirl pot from the relevant engine and fit both into your fuel tank. This should cost you about half what an aftermarket bosch fuel pump would cost you and has the added advantage that it wont burn out when its trying to suck fuel against the g forces on corners and acceleration. Don't ask me why I know this, but I do have a collection of burnt out bosch fuel pumps on my garage windowsill. Remember to fit a large metal cased fuel filter after the pump to save your injectors getting blocked with crud etc. I used 10mm copper pipe from Wickes ( microbore central heating pipe) for my fuel lines, both feed and return, with swaged ends and doubled up on the jubilee clips and it passed without any problems. As Plod said whats the kit, engine specs etc? Cheers, Tony

| Thanks tony D The kit is an RV Dynamics Python, the donor is a BMW e34 530i V8. I'm just coming up to rolling chassis. I did not keep the in tank pump from the donor as top access to the tank is not possible with the body on. I guess i'm going to have some burnt out pumps. Thanks |

Although the ECU will protect the engine to some degree from running too lean you really do not want to be getting fuel starvation when you are accelerating out of trouble ( or just having a blast). My strong advice would be to emulate as closely as possible what BMW did for their fuel system. Failure to do this will lead to poor running, loss of power, potential safety issues and possible embarrasment both from loss of power at inappropriate moments and having to be frequently recovered on a low loader when the fuel pump packs in. Cheers, Tony
