Locking brakes

I have been getting a bit braver with my Dax de dion in the braking department of late but am finding that it wants to lock up the right front wheel under hard braking.
I cleaned and checked the discs, pads and calipers but cannot see anything apparently amiss. The system is properly bled, the suspension settings are all as close to spec as can be and tyre pressures are as Dax spec. Its got the standard Dax Ford brake servo and piping so there seems no room for any balance adjustment there. I am now running out of ideas!
Has any one experienced this and have you any tips to adjust or fettle?
I know we are so used to anti lock brakes nowadays that its easy to forget how a non assisted system feels - but something is not quite right at the moment.

Regards

TimW

My Jag suspension DAX locks up the front left first.

What are the DAX tyre pressure specs?

Just a thought, but have you checked your corner weights are correct, it could be that the wheel that's locking up is set a little lighter than it's opposite number.

Regards,

Brian.

I agree with brian on corner weights, but also check the front one that does NOT lock, It could be that this one Is under par, partly seized piston, oil contamination on pads etc.

I have the same problem on mine. My own view is that their is still some air in the system and the closest to the servo is obviosly going to be the first to be completely purged of air first. My first stage is going to be to do some more bleeding as their are some (only a few) very tiny air bubbles in the other lines and they were an absolute pig to bleed.

I have not had brakes locking up but cured a pull to the left by balancing corner weights. During first MOT brake effort is almost exactly the same on each wheel...

Only real way to set up corner weights is with a professional race weights set up. I have known persons try with bathroom scales but thats not too accurate and they usually do not go heavy enough. Only usually good enough for Karts and occasional Caterhams
Corner weight adjustment should be done with a suitable substitute weight in the drivers seat, or with driver installed.
Adjustment usually can be done by adjustment on the shock absorbers - if you have adjustables installed ?

Back to the brakes locking up:
Could quite easily be the corner weights
But also could be the slave cylinder on the none skid side being less efficient.
Brake hoses of differing standards causing one to expand and lose pressure - do you run with braided hoses ?
Kinked hoses or tight radius brake lines.
Wheel camber and toe in if the wheel in question is not as efficient as the non skid side

Not really without the proper set up. The whole exercise on mine took abot 3 hours and cost £40. The chap came to my place with the equipment.
