Arrow HiD Headlamp Conversion

Hi all,
Has anyone fitted these to a Cobra and are they legal?

What kit have you guys fitted?

ps. I have seen some H4 conversions including a PIAA kit for an amazing £600 less vat.

Not legal but what the hell. As long as you don't be silly and have the really blue ones or blind people with them by having them too high you won't get any hassle from the law. I've fitted to another car and have no problems on the road or at MOT time.

Not legal? Why?

Only OE fitment needs the self levelling kit, retro-fit doesn't SFAIK.

£600! You can get a bi xenon kit off ebay for less than £90. I and others have fitted these kits without any trouble. They are very bright.

Not so I'm afraid. No idea if they've been through a test case yet but the view is...

"In the Department's view" - interpretation, not law then.

Lots of "recommendations" from various Gov't Departmetns are guidance only, not law. For the worst offenders, look up the Health & Safety bunch. Umpteen recommendations and guidelines, not a single one of them supported by case law.

Put money on your local bobbies not being interested in pursuing a case they might well lose. Firm ground is what they like.

& what usually happens that interpretation of law when proved to be incorrect results in clarification and adjustment of law that results in the punter suffering. Take tax laws for example. Like I said in my first post "what the hell"
