Steering wheel

With SVA looming I'm starting to think of getting rid of that huge Sierra steering wheel.

What size wheel do most people end up with? Why would I choose wood?

Dave Brooks had a nice wheel in the grey car that was at Peterborough, what was that Dave? and how big?

Any thoughts or suggestions would be most welcome and a hearty thanks if anyone gets the right answer

Andi.

My steering wheel and boss was from Demon Tweaks
It is a Momo steering wheel (Race) 350mm diameter

Pic attached.

I guess the reason you would choose a wooden steering wheel is that you personally like it.

Personally I don't like token amounts of wood in a car, i.e. a wooden steering wheel would look good if it matched a wooden gear knob etc.

........... bottom line is personal choice!

My own preference was a leather covered rim 13". I, personally, don't like wooden rims because I drive all year round and while I'm driving with warm gloves on I find wooden wheels too slippy. HTH

If your interested I have a 14" Cobra 3 Spoke Moto - Lita wooden steering wheel for sale. The wheel is completely unused, has a 9 hole mounting flange & can be supplied with Moto - Lita BMW steering column boss kit if required.

Hi Andi,
The Mota Lita wheel will not be SVA friendly, while the Sierra one probably is.

Clive hi. Andi is aware of this, he just likes to try and keep things moving. Champing at the bit, so to speak.

Hi Andi

I went for the wooden Moto Lita wheel as I thought it looked a bit more classic, I wont say original as nothing else looks that way.

I managed to find a matching Momo wooden gear knob and handbrake handle so the 3 work together quite nicely. Feel free to drop in if your over my way and have a feel!

Craig.

Hi Clive, no I want it for the moment it passes But I'm erring on the side of black leather and possibly a bit more 'sporty' than 'classical'.

Andi.

PS Now, Craig, there's an offer I can't refuse
