Clarke parts washer

I have bought a parts washer today as I am getting in such a mess cleaning parts and then not getting the parts very clean, so decided on the washer.

My question is what degreaser do people recommend, as I have been using paraffin and it recommends you don't use conbustable substances.

Cheers

Paul

I use the Clarks solvent based stuff - it's about £50 for 25L but is much better than their cheaper stuff. You can dilute it a bit with the parafin you already have so it covers the suction pump (as a single 25L barrel is not quite enough - assuming you have the bigger wash unit.)

It lasts for ages and self dries off washed parts unlike parafin. Also, if you leave it to settle for a few weeks after it gets really filty, you can drain off the clear stuff then chuck away just the crappy dirty stuff left in the bottom.

i got the small parts washer and i bought the ready mixxed stuff it was only a fiver for 5l it worked ok for when i was stripping my diff down cleaned it all nice but after that i cleaned my engine which was a bit big to put in the tank so i used a power washer with "GUNK" works a treat for the larger stuff expeccially if you can spray it on neat to pre treat

Mine is only the small one, more than adequate for what I need. I don't have the space for the big one anyway and I will only be using it for smaller parts. I think the biggest thimg that will have to go in it are the brake calipers.
