MoT

Successfully negotiated - just.

Emmissions were 5.7 but we managed to adjust that back to 3.4.

Steering is 'notchy', don't know if it's rack or UJ's.

Steering column could be a bit more solid.

Nearside exhaust manifold is blowing.

Off side rear lower bolt/shaft is a bit loose.

Starter motor was loose! We tightened that up.

Headlights were off! We adjusted those.

It did manage to stay just to the right of 90 on the temp guage. But there is a nasty rattle somewhere, it might be the baffles coming loose as the MoT guy found nothing major that was loose.

It dropped a prop shaft magnet, so on the way home it was reading 15mph when we were doing 30.

We even had a police car ignore us on the way home.

Phew!

12 days to sort that lot out, time for a rest!

Andi.

Well done m8! Just get on with it like I haven't

As for your side pipes, you should have been supplied some long self tapping screws and some instructions on where and what size holes to drill. These screws go though the side pipe outer and the outlet section, picking up on the baffle tube inside. Most are fitted from the underside so that can not be seen.

Two part Epoxy, however it was probably that I adjusted the sensor far too close when the speedo wouldn't work. I can unadjust it and try again.

I wish I had one of those lifts they have at the test station

I lost 4 magnets trying different glues in the end 4 years ago I cleaned a spot AGAIN and put a spot of Sikaflex on it and dropped the magnet into it, then wrapped some tape around it till it was dry and it has never moved since. If you use Two part Epoxy use the slow setting stuff as it is a lot superior to the quick setting one. Well done by the way.

Cheers Tinka, I can't remember the last I've had a car that needed an MoT, scary stuff, but the guy at Freeways in Tunbridge was excellent, helpful and very well informed.

Pre-SVA MOT is a very good idea - a run to bed brakes in, and checks for things you have missed.

100% to be recommended.

Totally agree with Wilf. My pre-SVA MOT sorted a few niggles that would've failed my SVA
