    Ford 302/347 engine block number

I'm currently trying to prepare myself for SVA. In particlar, I'm trying to confirm the engine age, which I believe is based on the engine block only.
The engine came from a company called Autocraft SVA. I have the original invoice with engine number and a stated year of 1991. The engine number on the invoice is OJ24-MF117882. Trying to anticipate the inspectors questions, I today removed the starter motor and tried to find the block number. I did find some numbers ie. OJ24 and some other letters which are puzzling me. I have taken a picture but as yet can not find the whole number as stated on the original invoice. I know the inspector is going to want clarification, but I can not find the second part of the number anywhere(MF117882).
Is this engine a 1991 block as stated ????
Is this going to cause me problems for SVA ???

    Can anyone help!!!!

    Regards
    Mark

I don't believe the pic you have is of the correct area, those are not casting codes.

The code should be horizontal, viewable from the underside of the engine. Or from just below the block skirt line, anyway.

    Hi Mark

your engine block number is below the 34 in the pic,
looks like F1SE which should be

    first position, decade F = 1990

    Second position year 1 = block 1991

Third position car line S = Thunderbird

    Fourth position E = Engine

    Hope that helps, Andy

Only Ford would have to point out to it's owners that it is actually the engine!

    Thanks Averyone!

All that seems to make sense now.
At least I have a very strong case for year of casting.
I still can't find the second part of the number on the engine though ( OJ24-MF117882) other than a number on top of the block at the rear of the engine which is only part visible ( MF11............)????
Will I need this for SVA or are they just interested in the Year?

    Regards
    Mark
