Red face Clutch Drag??

Hi everyone

Took the AK out tonight for a quick blast and noticed that after changing gear i'm not getting a quick response in terms of acceleration.

Gear shifts are smooth with no juddering etc. (TKO600 \ Chevy 383).

Could it be the slave cylinder \ pushrod needs further adjustment?

Comments welcome

Cheers
carl.

Clutch Slip

Sounds like clutch slip Carl. Check that the pedal is fully returning first, then adjust the pushrod so you have a couple of mm freeplay.

If the engine revs are increasing after changing gear, but the car isn't accelerating, then the clutch is slipping. If you are simply getting a poor response when you try to accelerate after changing gear, then it's an engine fault.

Thanks Chaps.

Sounds like the clutch is slipping. I'll adjust the slave cylinder tomorrow and go for another run

Smile

Altered the slave cylinder tonight and went out for a blast - everything appears to to OK now!

What amount of clutch travel are you guys getting?

Regards
carl.
