    Oxygen bottle

Quick question. I've got 1/2 size acetylene and oxygen cylinders. Acetylene has gone so am going to replace that. Anyway, I have a Land Rover to cut up / disassemble over the weekend and I've just noticed that the oxygen on the bottle pressure is reading only 50bar. I assume that it is pretty near the end of its life and it is time to replace that too?

Don't want to run out over the weekend but equally don't want to give BOC money uneccessarily!!

    Thanks guys,

normally 137 or 200 bar, so either 1/4 or 1/3rd left.

it should say on the label what the fill pressure is

Good luck in getting Acetylene BOC have been telling me they are out of it for the last 3 months but if you are as low in oxygen as that I would replace both bottles as the handling charge would cost more if you had to change them at different times

If you're only cutting, why not use Oxy/Propane? Gotta be cheaper than Acetylene

Personally I'd use spanners and a socket set to dissemble a Land Rover?

What are you doing to it? I've chopped bits of the chassis frame on many Land Rovers using nothing more than an angle grinder

If it's anything like my Land Rover, it's 45% rust, 35% Waxoyl and the rest is largely rivnuts. Waxoyl and flames produce interesting results - as Craig said, an angle grinder is your friend.
