Bonnet Scoop

I want to fit a bonnet scoop similair in style to original, with a separate scoop. I can get a flat (no scoop) bonnet from dax, but want to find a good scoop suitable.

I know Finish Line do one in aluminium, and that's a possibility, but I am sure some of you have done this!

with my SBC, I'd also like to ensure I can keep a large air filter. currently have a 3 inch drop base 14 in dia unit

Any ideas/suggstions??

Steve

RE: Bonnet Scoop

Steve,

I am planning on doing the same modification to my Dax this year, and while getting the flat bonnet from Dax is easy enough, getting the correct scoop may be more difficult.

I am considering using a Kirkham scoop from Gerry Hawkridge, but have yet to find out a price (expensive???) and dimensions. Although I doubt if my existing air filter (same dimensions as yours) will fit under it, so will have to change that also.

There is a Big Block Chevy powered Dax around with this set up I believe (I think it is in dark blue Gel coat with a black scoop) that I saw down at Detling and also the Dax day I think.

Does anyone know who owns this car and what scoop he used???

Hope this is of help, and someone else can help both of us with some info.

RE: Bonnet Scoop

RE: Bonnet Scoop

Spoke to hawk

they sell 3 scoops, sc lemans, and a lower type similair to sc. each 65 +vat. that sounds not unreasonable, don't know if they're the kirkham one to which you referred, but definately worth a look
