Dax wheels/tyres help !

I am at the stage where I wish to purchase wheels and tyres for for Dax. It would appear however, that after talking to Dax and Image Wheels, that my only option is to go for 17 inch wheels. This is disappointing, as I would have preferred 15 inch (cant get the tyres-except from the States, but they would be illegal as not E marked), of 16 inch (rim and tyre incompatable with a Dax).

I spoke to Dax regarding the 16 inch wheels. They only supply 15 or 17 inch, and have never supplied 16 inch. Confirmed this with Image, who said that they don't supply 16 inch to Dax. "If 16 inch worked, Dax would buy them off us instead of the more expensive 17 inch".

Does anyone out there run 16 inch wheels on their Dax, or does anyone know a supplier of E-marked 15 inch tyres?

RE: Dax wheels/tyres help !

Hi Dax SC.
I can sort you out with 16" or 17" Image Halibrand wheels for your Dax and at very competative prices. Give me a call on 07785 702005.

RE: Dax wheels/tyres help !

Don't beleave all the hype. 215 and 235's are available if you don't mind using different manufacturers front to rear. I do and have no problems. In my mind a Cobra will always look better on 15's and not 17 inch. And at the end of the day how many of us are realy that brilliant behind the wheel to notice the supposed improved road holding. Low profile equals more noise and harder ride against 60 profile comfort and looks. Try 'e-tyres.co.uk' or tyres-online.co.uk. Both can supply our needs in the 15 inch department, OOO matron!
I am selling my 15 inch DAX supplied wheels(as new, black centres, spinners, 2000 miles) to replace them with mega bucks knock-ons from the states in, you've guessed it, 15 inch sizes, so I must be pretty confident I can get tyres in the UK. Any one interested send me a note at simon.finlay@archant.co.uk and we can talk.

Try Pilgrim for both wheels and tyres. They seem to get a VERY good deal from Image and can supply tyres that got me through the SVA and MOT tests.
