    Fuel consumption

Here are my findings of week 1 (1000 miles):-

12 mpg round central London traffic
20 mpg on long motorway trips

Standard Chevy 350 in a Dax - nothing highly tuned.
    Any comments?

    RE: Fuel consumption

That sounds reasonable, I get the following from my mildly tuned chevy.

    1/4 mile 3mpg
    Trackdays 6 mpg
    Town 14 mpg
    Motorway (80mph) 23mpg

    Best Regards

Crossed over for a while - Overlanding - Some people are just like slinkies, they don't really have a purpose but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down the stairs.

    RE: Fuel consumption

    Much better than mine.

I only manage 5 yards on a coffee jar full (but it sounds great on the drive )

One day it'll be on the road !

And if Roberts is Mildly tuned.....we should all go home

    Regards

    Jim

It is mildly tuned at the moment, I have a project plan on what else I am going to be doing, just need to work out the finances.

Robert - I feel 'spreadsheet 3' coming on here - I gather RSA Security make good tools to protect it from her indoors :7 :7 :7 :7 :7 .

If if that beast is 'mildly tuned' then mine is 'barely running'.

There will be no spreadsheet, and no record of money spent whatsoever.

    RE: Fuel consumption

To save Robert the trouble, his engine is indeed in a mild state of tune. It's the blower that makes it romp. That's why he likes it - docile around town, raging monster above 3000 rpm.
Me? I prefer mid tune lots of cubes - still very streetable BUT IT PULLS 5000RPM IN 5TH!!!
