RE: Jag Handbrake adjustment Couple of nuts on the handbrake end as far as I can remember, but I thought they were supposed to be self adjusting, the one on my Dax does anyway. You may have to take off the handbrake caliper and separate/clean and grease it. Its very easy to do once you have got access. Mike.

RE: Jag Handbrake adjustment Ian Assuming you have Jaguar rear brakes as the topic suggests you can manually adjust the handbrake calipers how dificult this is depends on whether or not you have easy access to them Adjustment is achieved via a threaded rod which passes through the handbrake caliper. From memory it,s a 5/16 bolt with a large cross head which is locked by a cotter pin passing through the slot in the head To adjust jack up the car (don't forget the axle stands) remove the cotter pin, tighen the bolt until the wheel locks then slacken until the wheel turns freely, once you are happy replace the cotter pin, it's not an exact science so you may have to move the pin slightly to get the cotter back in Once you have adjusted the calipers you may have to adjust the handbrake cable to suit Hope this helps Pete

RE: Jag Handbrake adjustment Ian you are spot on, but there is a ratchet wheel that connects between the pin. Initially when you install the caliper you are supposed to yank the hand brake lever up and down fairly ferociously. Until tension is taken up by the pad biting the disk, the ratche rotates until this event happens. I feel it is worth sorting the ratchet out now as the mechanism will not self adjust under normal usage otherwise, All the best. Mike.
