Clutch slave cylinder

My engine/gearbox has a Girling 7/8ths inch slave cylinder, but needs new seals. My local accesory shop can't help me "without knowing what it's from mate" and my local usa spares shop told me that they don't stock any hyraulic clutch parts. Where can I go to get seals???

RE: Clutch slave cylinder

Hi there,

Phone Lucas Girling in Birmingham , now called Valeo, or some other marketing guru's suggested name, ask to speak to parts/ technical department and give them the casting number off the side of the cylinder.

They should be able to sort you out no problems, either with a local supplier or direct. A good motor factors should be able to cross reference however.

Lucas Girling made a number of brake parts which were fitted to a plethora of different machines, so you might find that your cylinder was also fitted to cranes, earthmovers, Morris Minors, milkfloats, Ford Escorts Triumph's etc etc.....

Cheers,

Tony.
