    Electrical help required

I've wired my indicators as simply as I can as per the drawing below (there are front and rear indicators as well as repeaters and dash lights for each side) and I'm having a problem I can't solve. If I turn on the left indicator then all is fine but when I switch on the right indicator then the flash is of the correct frequency but very short in duration. If I use the hazards then all lights work perfectly. I've tried changing the relay and the switch and taking the wiring away from the hazard switch but it's still the same. My thoughts are if there's a wiring fault then why does it work OK on hazards?? Any pointers as on where to look would be helpful,

    Cheers

Bugger, it won't let me attach the drawing

Tone the fast flash would normally occur when a bulb has gone, obviously it hasn't as the hazards work OK.
The suspicion I have is that there is a high resistance issue or maybe a bad earth somewhere?

As you have eliminated most things that can go wrong I would start by checking that each lamp is in fact drawing the correct 21W or thereabouts as the flasher rate and possibly the on time will be critical to the load when indicators only are in use. Try swapping left and right indicator lamps to the opposite side and see if the problem changes side.

When on Hazards there is no lamp fail indication as the current drawn by 4 21W lamps, plus tell tails, exceeds the Indicator lamp fail threshold in the flasher unit so the hazard flash will always be at the correct rate. (Unless three lamps fail of course!)

If you take something to bits often enough, eventually you'll have two of them......

Ok, after much searching and car dismantling I have found that removing the repeater lamp on the offending side cures the problem even though it lights up and flashes the same as the other lamps on that circuit. I shall now try and work out why

After even more searching, I found that one of the side repeaters I bought from SVC at Stoneleigh had a 4W bulb, the offending one had a 34W bulb!! Problem solved, just need a "Big Tone chat" with SVC at Newark

    Thanks for the pointers everyone!
