Mike - could be that somewhere in the run of that original cable, the conductors are broken inside the insulating sheath. A bit of warmth, and then hey presto - no current.

Most auto-electricians will tell you that 99% of all car electrical problems are actually mechanical - bad connections/earths etc.

Glad you sorted it, now you have no excuses not to get out there and use the car!

By pre lemans meet i meant that there is a meeting up i believe of martinl and co to sort out a few things,martins back end was so low when fitting equiptment into car thathe may have to raise his ride height.
