As far as I can remember the bottom front wishbone should have the ball-joint lug cranked forward.
Looks like my old 1993 build manual (Hahahaha, that's what they call it) shows the same.............cranked forward.
Could someone please tell me which side the offset should be for the bottom ball joint onto the lower wishbone - forward or rearward? I now know the wishbones are handed ....!
Thanks
James

Yup, Cranked forward on the Dax standard chassis.
The top wishbones are handed too just in case you hadn't noticed....

Thanks chaps, I should have noticed this before finishing off the second side!
Craig, you've got me worried now, I have the early cranked top wishbone and no, I hadn't noticed - to the batcave tonight for a check up!

Craig,
I can't find any handing on the top wishbones - are you sure these are handed?

Hi James
Maybe your versions are not handed. I have the straight versions from a late model XJR-S and they are indeed handed, The front one is longer than the rear one pushing the top of the upright further back to increase castor.
Maybe the earlier cranked versions are the same?

If they are like Craig's and the one's I had on mine, you can see which is which in the enclosed photo, the wishbone that goes at the front has a angled flat lump on it.

I've often been asked, "What do you old folks do now that you're retired? Well, I'm fortunate to have a chemical engineering background, one of the things I enjoy most is turning beer, wine, Scotch and margaritas into urine.
Life's good, live it.
A picture paints a thousand words! Thanks for uploading those, mine are definately more curved and without the flat lumps on, I'm fairly confident that mine aren't handed, although I could do with a bit more caster for more 'feel' and I think that's what your later wishbones give you by being slightly offset.
Thanks again...

Where are the shims on your top balljoint/arms James? Moving them all to the front (if they're not already there) will give you more castor.
