Clutch Pipework Chevy and Tremec

Hi Guys,

just a quickie I hope using a 7/8" master and slave cylinders as I am (once again thanks to Dave Brookes for the advice).
What size clutch pipe should I use? I'm thinking of 5/16" but before I take the plunge and start flaring I thought I'd take advise.
On a complete tangent do I need to have side repeaters for the good old SVA? I have seen lots of pictures of cars without or are they pre SVA?
Dax's lighting kit doesn't come with side repeaters.
If it ever arrives I'm so looking forward to fitting the Dax side exhaust system (NOT!) following recent posts.

Kev - 1/4" pipe should be OK.

You will need side repeaters for SVA. Any cars that no longer have them had them removed after SVA!! Disgraceful

Kev
Dax do a braided pipe kit for the Dax/Tremec setup. It has a banjo set up which you will need for the access to the top of the cylinder and depending where your slave sits, to clear the tunnel. Its not cheap, but the saving you will make from making up the part is a couple of quid. Its length is ideal so it may be worth you getting one from them to save the hasstle. Thats if your master is an AP.
Mike.

RE: Clutch Pipework Chevy and Tremec

My master cylinder was supplied by Dax (it's a Tilton) my slave is a Discovery item.
I'm in the throws of making up a bracket to mount the slave close to the oil filter, I must admit that using a Mcleod steel safety bell housing does make it tight in the tunnel area, I've already shortened the clutch lever by an inch.
If there's a next time I think it'll be the more normal bits from Repower.

Thanks for the help guys

RE: Clutch Pipework Chevy and Tremec

Hello Kev
I used the larger bore pipe, told that it allowed the fuild to return quicker
and reducing chance of clutch slip, not all may agree but I did.
As for pipes take your time and all will be OK.
The wiring is in the loom for the side repeters,Not all people like the ford
side repeters thats why dont enclude them.
Cheers paul.:7
