RE: PCV Info

Paul

You won't need a PCV valve in your original system. The oiginal Rover setup is designed to pull just enough air out of the engine without the need for a flow limiting PCV valve. I would leave it as it is unless there is an actual problem

RE: PCV Info

I have the rocker covers fitted from a range rover which employed the system I'm curently using. Fresh air is pulled through a filter at the rear of the engine.

RE: PCV Info

Good find Wilf. Have you found any sites (or books come to that) that have schematics or illustrations showing the internal arrangements of small block Fords?

RE: PCV Info

Wilf,
I am trying to address a personal problem - terminal ignorance.

Having bought this 302 powered machine I thought it would be useful to have some idea how the thing works. I bought a copy of the book you mentioned before (Rebuilding Small Block Fords) but what I could really do with are some general arrangement (cutaway) drawings to get a feel for the thing.

Regards
Two Greens

OK Twogreens - I don't know where to find 'em myself, so I have put up a request over on clubcobra. We'll see what turns up.

RE: PCV Info

anyone know of a vacuum pump to provide the suction? I don't fancy having all that cr**p being sucked into my nice clean manifold and heads.

RE: PCV Info

Kev - chill. Only a knackered old engine with significant blowby would put any real mess up through the PCV. Or a set of rocker covers with poor baffling, which would allow too much oil to run up to the PCV intake area. Relax, and let those crankcase gasses get outa there.

RE: PCV Info

OK, well I reckon just one valve after the y would do it, only trouble might be that these valves are supposed to work upright but as long as a way could be found (or another more suitable inline valve found) of keeping it upright then it should be ok

I'm going to try to attach a couple of pics
