dax pedal box assembly

spent last two hours trying to fit pedal box in my dax problem is that as far as i can see the only way i can get it to fit is to elongate the slot i've made for the clutch i think i've tried every other solution i can think of. the only reason i'm resisting doing it because it means sloting approx 225mm which seems crap because all you need is about 60mm max.CRAP design or have i missed something HELP!!!

P. S. the longer slot is just to get the thing in at an angle

RE: dax pedal box assembly

I havn't got that far yet but I do believe you have to elongate the slot. I don't think it shows as the clutch mechanism on the top will cover most of the slot anyway.
As I said, I am not yet at this stage yet-I don't even have the pedals assembly, so I may be talking out of my arse. I am sure if Dave Brookes sees this post, he will give more info on it.

Macca
When I fitted my pedal box, I used the clutch master cylinder carrier as an
template for marking the slot.I copied it on to a piece of card and marked it on the inside alittle bit fiddly but no big problem.
Regards paul.

RE: dax pedal box assembly

Yes, you do need to cut a long slot, as Paul says, use the Clutch master cylinder bracket as a template.

The bracket will cover up the slot once you have installed the pedal box.

Are you using the alloy or stainless underbonnet package ?

Fitting the brake servo and master cylinder can also be very frustrating !!

However, the end results are worth it.

If you are using a dax heater kit, which mounts in the passenger footwell, mount it so that the pipes face into the passenger compartment, this makes routing the piework a lot easier.

Have fun.

Mark

My Dax is just about ready for SVA and i have to say that the pedal box, brake servo, etc was the lowest part of the build, what you are saying is correct, you basically have to butcher the top of the foot well, dax say the same, its just a shitty design.

RE: dax pedal box assembly

overcame the problem by drilling 20mm hole in side of brake pedal bracket enough to extract bolt from clutch pedal fixed pedal box offered up clutch pedal through correctly sized slot bingo no butchering 'smug'

thanks for the input i guarantee it wont be my last post

Steve
I would raver use a bit of engineering ability and to have them wheels
with them doggy offsets and no side pipes.
No insult ment, each to their own and all that.

Paul.
