MOT without number plates

Hi guys, me again!

had a chat with an MOT guy about MOTing the toy when its ready, he queried the fact it has no number plates yet.....Can you get an MOT without just using the chassis number ? or is the mot used just to see if alls ok before SVA?

Norm.

RE: MOT without number plates

you can have the car MOT'd on the chassis number as long as the car is insured and the MOT is prebooked. If you wish you can also take the vehicle to a suitable place of repair following a failed MOT with the same stipulations.

regards
Kev

RE: MOT without number plates

Unfortunately there are police out there that don't know it is legal to drive to and from the MOT station (with insurance MOT, pre booked etc). The chances are you will get stopped by every cop on route and have a debate about the legality of the situation. It's a great feeling when you win }> }> }>

RE: MOT without number plates

I stuck a pair of false plates on to take it for the SVA. You ask WHY?, when it is legal to drive without plates as long as it is insured.

Answer, because the last time I drove a kit for SVA, I was so pi**ed of with plonkers hooting at me and pointing to the back of my car like escaped mental patients, it made me feel like I was in the wrong and I would be surrounded by the Flying Squad or ARV before I got to the next roundabout.

I would rather have been done for false plates, than suffer idiots.

Cheers

Miket

RE: MOT without number plates

Ahh there is a god then........

My query was raised as I had to have my number plates repaired on my daily runner.....as it would fail MOT otherwise!

Thats OK, will take it for MOT soon then.....cant wait for PC Plonker to appear from behind a bush, or is it under a stone????

Thanks Guys

Norm.
