    Pedal box for Marina/Ital ?

I seem to be having enormous difficulty in finding a dual circuit pedal box for a Marina/Ital (for an AK build). Anyone know of any specialists out there ?

    Thanks

Try Dave Kelly car breakers they are in Wrexham, he had 3 a few months ago and one was in a Marina Van, has bigger servo. Give him a call 01978 843253. He is primarily a jag breaker so may be good source for those bits. i got G/box, propshaft from him and handbrake (Xjs).

I got my Marina pedal box by using a broker for used car parts i think it was www.1stchoiceonline.co.uk they advertised in Thompson directory hope that helps

Thanks JP. I gave him a call and he is on the case. What exactly do I need in terms of pedal box ? I understand it has to be dual circuit. Would the one from the Van be ok if it has a bigger servo ?

I also asked him if he had some 'pre 1974' Jag log books. He said that he could sell one to me (together with the chassis of course !) for £500 and I could leave the chassis there ! Bu88er that... I think the black and silver plates route will be too expensive...

The one from the van will be OK and ask for the lot master cylinders resvoirs the lot, everything connected to it. While you are there get the throttle pedal from the Marina as well, double check with AK. I used a Triumph one but i think that AK now modify the marina/ital one now.

Pre 74 loog books are rare because you will end up with a car exempt from road fun licience, i paid 25 quid for my xj6.

try john Gordon jag spares 01254 397434 imsure you can pick up a chassis to work with for about the same price, if you get my drift.

Shouldn't worry too much about getting the brake master cylinder - you'd be mad to re-use a master cylinder off such an old car - it is fairly important it doesn't go wrong (as I found out on my Cavalier a while back!!) - new one is fairly expensive though

If you can get the rest of the bits I can help with a decent Ital master cylinder. Took it off and replaced it on my car because I believed it to be the cause of some braking problems which subsequently proved incorrect. It is still possible to get seal kits but the unit works OK anyway.

As a brother RAM owner could I ask a few questions on your interesting picture?

Is the Ital van servo larger and more powerful than the conventional car one which I use? Presumably so, as you have had to chop a piece of the pedal box out. Is it a big improvement and did you change it because it was not adequate before? Everyone tells me how they lock Jag brakes up easily yet I have always felt mine to need a good push, even after a new master cylinder, front calipers, new "green stuff" pads, etc., etc. Would love to hear your experiences.

On the clutch, do you know the master and slave bore diameters and makes and how heavy is that one also. Is yours a "standard" clutch arrangement?
