Thermo (Fan) Switch Location

On my Holley Street Dominator manifold (SBC 307) there are three tapped holes, one for the water temp sender, one for heater return, is it OK to install the fan switch in the third one ???, or, should the switch be closer to the radiator?
Many Thanks.
Charlie.

RE: Thermo (Fan) Switch Location

Charlie - no reason why not, so long as the place you are talking about "sees" good water flow from the heads, but you would probably need an adjustable thermostat to "tune" the thing. I have found that "preset" switches don't let you adjust the temp the fans come in/out at to ones liking.

Yeah good idea, an adjustable thermostat with an overide switch just in case, and one of those push in probe things in the radiator fins, seems to cut in and out about right, and in and out and...!
