Tyre Pressures Hello all This morning I checked the pressure on the front tyre and tey are at about 40 PSI. I seem to remember that they should be alot lower than that. Can anyone tell me what the ideal front and rear pressures should be ?? Thanks for your help Cheers Dave

| RE: Tyre Pressures Drop those pressures - that kind of pressure at the front end will make the car feel very unstable. There was a thread here before about tyre pressures, but I can't rememeber where. As a starting point, try 19-21 lbs at the front, 21-23 lbs at the rear, and see how things go. Not by any means the definitve settings, but a reasonable starting point. Wilf

RE: Tyre Pressures Dave, If you are using the 17" wheels, Dax reccomend 20 PSI all round. BRGDS Mark Trinder

RE: Tyre Pressures I concur with Wilf. I'm running 245x60x15 in the front and 295x50x15 in the rear. For street use I run around 22 and on the track about 26. Roscoe

RE: Tyre Pressures Hi Roscoe I thought it was recommended to reduce the tyre pressure for track use not increase it. Is that not correct ??

RE: Tyre Pressures Paul, I always thought that too but last month at Pocono Raceway they suggested we run at around 26 lbs. This was based on our tire size, weight, etc. This was just a starting off point. The trick was to take a piece of chalk and mark the sidewall of the tire down to the tread. After the first run you take a look at the chalk mark. If it goes beyond the tread seam into the sidewall you need more air and visa versa. On the street I get a softer ride with the tires around 22-24 lbs. Roscoe

RE: Tyre Pressures Hi there I run a Dax with 17" rims with P zero tyres 45 section I to had the dancing car effect due to high tyre pressures and I thought what the hell have I built now running 20 all round and what a difference I can now run the shocks harder so I don't get the dipping effect but now I can pull a corner and feel it will go round rather than skate about. Another thing is I can now cross a white line without the car telling me it wants to follow it cheers Paul
