Speedo cable

Good day gentlemen

Looks like I need to replace my speedo cable.
How difficult is it? Do I need any special tools? Sorry for the stupid question..
The cable snapped right at the point of entry into the gauge.
Rover 3.5, smiths speedo. There is a tight squeeze just before it goes into the speedo.

Cheers

RE: Speedo cable

Zeb
I used a standard SD1 speedo cable.Obviously the gearbox end is correct.I sent ages under the car trying to fit it,till I cut the back of my hand on a protuding self-tapper and found a small inspection plate.Lifted carpet from tunnel and VOILA screwed it on easy. The speedo end had a nylon clip assembly, which I removed and using PTFE tape on the speedo thread push fitted the cable to it.I now have a Smiths reverse drive speedo which has a screw on adaptor.the cable is pushed onto this the same as before.
You could try Speedy cables, tell them the two ends and length and they will price it.
