Jaguar lower front wishbones

The lower wishbones on the jaguar front suspension are handed and
the dreaded Haynes manual does not say how they should be fitted.
i.e. should they be fitted with the lower balljoint fixing hole cranked forwards or backwards?

RE: Jaguar lower front wishbones

Hi David, just a quick tip before you post, try searching for 'front wishbone' and you should easily find the answer without waiting for a reply ! Somebody asked this about 4 weeks ago.

Its cranked towards the front.

Good luck !

RE: Jaguar lower front wishbones

David, the lower front wishbone arms should have the bottom ball joint mount to the front of thje vehicle, although it looks better to the rear, as I myself found out to my peril!!

Start of with two or three spacers in the top wishbone arms between the ball joint, also once again to the front.

A point to remenber it would appear; if you are using series two suspension, the top arms are paired & handed, that is to say you jugle the 4 of them around until the casting lumps which are threaded; which normaly takes the bump stops are the same distance apart when you hold them together in pairs. I think I have that right.

Best of luck Eric.
