| Rover LT77 gearbox mounts As I didnt remove the original gearbox from the donor car, I dont know which way round the mount goes. Can someone take a quick look at the picture (blatently stolen from rimmer bros website) and let me know if this is the correct way round ? I also dont seem to have the spacer bits indicated by the '?' on the picture... and of course, cant find a supplier for them... the build was going so well until I put the only bit in that I didnt buy from new - THE ENGINE/GEARBOX - (and hence have loads of bits missing and is now a pain in the arse !)... oh well. | RE: Rover LT77 gearbox mounts Martin Try RPI for spacers if you need them, I used them but only because I had them with the gear box. Didn`t use the large washer arrowed at the bottom just used two bolts with suitable sized washers ( m10 I think from memory ). Tony.

| RE: Rover LT77 gearbox mounts Marcus, think you already have the answer you need in other replies but my 2p. Gearbox cross member fits etiher way round - it's symetric. You only need the two rubbers - centre bolt spacer etc is a 'fail safe' device which is supposed to restrain the back of the gearbox should either/both the rubber bobbins fail. However we don't let our cars do tens of thousands of miles between tinkering (sorry servicing) so you'll spot a failing mount before it happens. If you really want to, you can add a third bobbin in place of this 'fail safe' using the Daf van part (which uses one in the middle instead of two at an angle). The double holed washers are exactly that - washers, there to spread the load of the bolts over the cross member surface to ensure good clamping - make some out of a bit of steel plate if you cant find any anywhere else. | RE: Rover LT77 gearbox mounts I'm glad that center bobbin was only required as a 'fail safe' device as I was unable get the bobbin to line up so didn't bother fitting it |

| RE: Rover LT77 gearbox mounts My holes on the mounts dont seem to line up too well ! Maybe a bit of bending is the key Marcus |
