RE: Screws or bolts size

Brasscraft or Autobrass(both advertise in Snake Torque) can supply them in kits.

Sorry Gravetti but I a don’t have the Snake Torque, I live in Holland and our Cobraclub got only the “Paper Snake” no advertising of Brasscraft or Autobrass. (http://www.cobraclub.nl)
Do you have a e-mail address from both?
Do you know if are different the screw kits from both vendors?
TIA.

Autobrass don`t have an email address but telephone no. is 01805 804583 and Fax 0185 804657

Brasscraft telephone no. is 01252 782702 and Fax 01252 783628
I can`t find an email for them either.

Just a thought

RE: Screws or bolts size

Hi There 289,
I can tell you that the screws are 4BA thread.
I struggled to get some too. But finally managed to get some brass ones locally, couldn't get stainless or chrome though.
I'll change them when I find some.

If you can't find any I could pick up some brass ones for you and post them over if you like?

RE: Screws or bolts size

Hi,

I found the thread size, I think

BUT SxxT HAPPENS and happens with me this time. (To late Paul){-}
I CRACKED THE SCREEN installing the centre stay screws(TO LONG SxxT)
{-} ** {-} ** {-} ** {-} ** {-}
I hope I can arrange something with the insurance.

The pillar screws for my screen are 3BA. I have tried with a metric coarse screw M-4 and it fits reasonable. (’86 DAX)
So I did a check in the internet to find the comparable size for BA threads and I found the next figures:

Size Screw dia.over the threads Pitch Angle of thread
----------------------------------------------------------------------
M-4----------0.1574” = 4.00mm----------0.70mm--------60.0 degrees
M-4.5--------0.1771” = 4.50mm----------0.75mm--------60.0 degrees
3BA----------0.1610” = 4.09mm----------0.7289mm------47.5 degrees
4BA----------0.1420” = 3.60mm----------0.6604mm------47.5 degrees

RE: Screws or bolts size

The Brasscraft screens have different sizes depending on when your screen was made - best to check with them and they can advise.

RE: Screws or bolts size

Hi gents,
My Glass show the next printed test:

SOLAGLAS
BS 875-2 WHP
Laminated
M 10 WL
LF DOT 76 AS 1
D368

White large letters
04 44 JG
The frame got the next number stamp "TRAC 216" the pillars got only the number "216"

Can someone recognize the vendor of this screen? Brasscraft or Autobrass
The DAX was build at ‘86
