intake and carb on ak

i am just rebuilding a chev sb for an ak kit.
i have a gm high perf ally intake and holley but want to know if it will have enough clearance under the bonnet before i screw it all together ( i dont have the kit yet!)

if anyone could help by telling me what they run in their chevy powered ak's it would be very useful, even better if you know the height of the manifold from the mounting bolt points (or the top of the distributor hole)to the mounting flange. i can then compare this to the manifold i already have to see if it will fit!

thanks

RE: intake and carb on ak

Sorry I don't know any measurements, but all I can say is that it "will" fit OK.

There's lot's of AK's out there with this setup and all are OK. My advice would be to just bolt it together.

Adam,

Are you using an Edelbrock manifold ? Try logging on to www.edelbrock.com

Look at the automotive parts section and select inlet manifolds.

They give the front and rear height of the carb mounting pad for most of their manifolds.

www.holley.com also have similar pages but I could not get some of them to open.

Good luck

Mark

Adam

My manifold is a Weiand high rise dual plane and from top of distributer hole to carb flange is 90mm, the carb is a Holley 750 with a 3" deep airfilter and I have about 40mm clearance to the underside of the bonnet.
