Gearbox options for Ford 351W

Hi folks,

I'm helping my brother convert his 1985 RAM Cobra rep. from Rover V8/Rover 5 sp. gearbox to Ford 351 Windsor power. We picked up an engine at the weekend, a real beaut, but we need to add a bellhousing, clutch and gearbox. I was wondering what makes/types of manual gearbox other forum users had behind their 351W power plants. Any advise on what to source and where from would be appreciated. There will be a nice Rover V8 and gearbox for sale soon, let me know if you're interested.

Thanks. Ian

A T56 is a good choice if want the added bonus of a six speed.

TopBoss in Derby (01332 347406) can get them secondhand, if you want one.

The T56 is quite a long gearbox in most of its guises so be careful it will fit in your chassis.
A Tremec 3550 of TKO is another good option.

take a look at this link it may help.

Not sure if it is any good to you or if any one else can advise, but I have a Super T10 which I have just taken out of my Ram and it now looking for a good home. Not too sure what it is worth, I am still looking into that. Let me know if you are interested.
