| RE: starter motor now, now. Also the starter motor is only about 10mm from exhaust, does this create a heat problem, is a shield an idea? |

| RE: starter motor Hi, Try Real Steel (good on price) as there are several starter motors ie depending on Flywheel size, and bolt hole patterns and make sure installer measures the flywheel to pinion clearance and shim as necessary. As regards to heat I have heard it can be a problem although not from experience. Wrapping the manifolds in that area could well reduce heat to quite an extent, what about heat reflective tape on the starter body as well. Regards Graham

| RE: starter motor Heat from the headers can be a real problem causing poor cranking speeds when hot - very embarrassing when you've just filled up with petrol and everyone else is laughing at you bump starting your Cobra! Suggest you look at the other posts on the forum (use search 'starter motors') - general view seems to be to go for the more expensive but more reliable mini high torque starter as in the Real Steel catalogue.
