MGB Fuel Tank

Hi All,

on Daves recomendation I am now an owner of a SH MGB fuel tank.
Probably an easy question this but on the side of the tank is a great big hole which looks like a screw is type affair. Anybody know what goes in there???

I have an MG - yes it is for the fuel sender unit.

Do I need a special sender? or are thay a standard fitting?

One that will cover the hole with maybe an adapter and has the correct electrical and mechanical span. Why not start with the characteristics of the original MGB sender that you know will fit into the hole and see if it will give full and empty on the gauge you want to use. MGB bits are easy to get. The tanks are prone to rusting though ... from the inside.x(
