Seat runners for AK shells

I will shortly be taking delivery of some upholstered AK seats shells (calssic bucket style). I want to fix them to some runners. Any recommendations ? I see some in the Europa catalog (COB SSR) @ £24.60, has anyone used these (or similar) ? Any top 'Seat fitting tips' ??!!!

Ta.

Marcus

Marcus

Talk to AK for there seats i think you need to have them fastened to the floor for the SVA test to comply with seatbelt dimensions. The seats you have may of course change this but worth checking you can always add them later.

RE: Seat runners for AK shells

This is indeed true.

Buy the runners first, measure and drill the floor and seat carefully so that the holes that secure the runners to the floor will also secure the seat to the floor.

Then once SVA is passed insert the runners under the seats.

Remember to use large spreader washers or plates to spread the load on the floor.

Cheers,

Tony

The main advantage for not using seat runners is that the seat is set for me and the missus can't reach the pedals therefore she can't drive it , shame aint it }(

But how does she drive you back from the pub on a Sunday lunchtime or summers evening after you have taken all the Kudos and admiration from the envious patrons ?

Seat Runners and Adjustable steering column ensures that any female over 5" will be able to get me back home.

All I'll have to do now is find out where Kylie Minogue goes for a pie and pint and she wont be able to resist !!

Cheers,

Tony

Which probably explains why my arse is so svelte like also.......

Have you noticed how narrow the un upholstered AK seats are.......or is it just my lard arse.....

Cheers,

RE: Seat runners for AK shells

I had the problem with the seat height relative to the seat belt rear anchorage on the Dax.
Like most my lower seat cushion is removable so I just removed it which lowered the height of the seat enough to pass the test.
The best thing was that the SVA tester actually suggested it, what a diamond geezer. :+ :+
If only they were all as accommodating. ;(

Dunno, I havent seen the un-upholstered version, they were just sent stright to the trimmers. I sat in one that the trimmer had done and it was perfect. I certainly wouldnt want anything smaller though..
