Jobs I hate

Today I changed the spark plugs on my car - UA Python with Chevy ZZ4. The front 6 are fine, the back 2 are sods *# , and basically necessitates taking off the exhaust manifolds. I almost decided to change just 6 but you know it just didn't seem right, so off came the manifolds and the task for this week is now to fix the pinprick hole there was in one of them on a weld and to get them cleaned and painted and the wrapped in the heat resistant bandage before reinstalling next weekend.

I also skinned a knuckle on my right hand but I think that is the standard price for these sort of jobs.

What jobs do you hate doing on your cars?

PS The good news is that yesterday I managed to complete the rest of a 5000 km service with the local Boy Scout Troop (my son is a scout) "helping" me. We managed an Pil and Filter change, coolant drain and refill, axle lube change and refill, and brake check without mishap. It helped that I told them at the start that anyone who damaged the car would be taken to the River Rhine and drowned by me personally.... {-}

Driving it in the garage and closing the door, especially when the sun is shining.

It's always shining in Devon you lucky sod.... Having said that, it's been shining in Leeds for the past two weeks. Mine should be back from the painters on Friday.

Bet it starts chucking it down on Saturday.;-(

RE: Jobs I hate

Changing the oil filter on my ZZ4 - the tool ultimatley completly distroyed the filer body !!

So I had to drill a drain hole in the casing - chop out the filter material & drill out round the centre threaded hole - to relive the seal and then it unscrews - but it passed the MOT and the suns still shining!!

Regards Clive

Contrary Mary

Changing my back two plugs, necessitating three plug spanners; also removing the headers which takes a treble jointed monkey with long reach spanners!! Not even cheng Lim would undertake this task.

Ow yes and keep replacing condenser on my twin point Mallory after 800 miles!! Now been moved of the engine & replaced by another totaling two, one for each set of points wired in parallel (Sorted that bas#ed!)Eric.
