Ride Height

Hi all,
Just bought a set of nice new shiny 17" Image Halibrands and tyres for my part built Dax. Couldnt stand looking at the old jag wheels any longer, so got all excited and fitted them to the car, but I'm disappointed with the large gap between top of tyre and underside of wheel arch (approx 80mm). Adjustment left on the coilovers is minimal, probably no more than 10mm so I'm wondering what I'm going to do to lower ride height to the correct level. I havent fitted the interior or dash yet, and still have a few engine bay bits to fit plus fluids but cant think that their weight will make that much difference. Could the shox be incorrect? They are all Spax units but I cant read any numbers on them.
Any ideas?

Dave

RE: Ride Height

Hi Dave
I had exactly the same thoughts the first time I put my new wheels on, but don't worry, it will all settle down in time as mine has and it all looks good now. By the way have you moved it at all since you fitted the wheels as if not you will find that it will settle a little more once you have.

RE: Ride Height

Hi Martin,
Thanks for the input.
I've slackened all the shockers right off, moved the car in & out of the garage several times and bounced each corner of the car up & down but so far no difference. I think perhaps I'll leave it as it is for the time being and get everything else finished off, then think about ride height after the SVA. At least I shouldnt have a problem with front indicator height!
BTW, how are you getting on with your pre-SVA preparations?
Dave

RE: Ride Height

Get some great lardy to bounce up & down on the archesx(
Seriously though all will settle down in time when you're on the road - don't worry, be happy

Cheers
