Core plugs

Just bought a new set of core plugs for my 331 stroker build, is there a best way to install them in the block? should I seal them in some way?
Thanks
Simon

RE: Core plugs

Hi Simon, you should use a socket of the right size to fit neatly into the internal diameter of the plug as a drift.
And yes you should use sealant of a suitable type to help them seal in the engine block. Loctite I'm sure have something suitable, I imagine your local motor factor can supply something.

RE: Core plugs

i was recomended to use a gasket type sealer, rtv or silicone base to seal them.
