Electronic speedo connection on Tremec

I connected the Tremec reverse switch and speedo wiring last night and see that there are two pins on the electronic speedo transducer. I seem to remember Andy in GD telling me that the transducer is effecitvely a sdwitch to earth.

Can I assume from that that all I need to do is connect to the single loom wire (black/yellow) to one connector and from the other to a local earth?

Thanks,
Paul

RE: Electronic speedo connection on Tremec

Paul,
Rather than connect to a "local" earth, use the other wire provided in the loom as an earth. The one that's labelled as 8v supply for Stewart Warner Instruments.
Ensure the other end of it is connected to earth at the speedo.

It may work either way, but using a separate dedicated earth from the speedo will reduce the chances of interference causing erratic readings.

Simon.
