RE: Which Gear Box

Hi,

I think that you have three good options,

one an old four speeds like the ones that use the Corvettes and Camaros in the late 60th´s and early 70th´s, is a a Saginor 4 speed.
Other option is to use a Tremec TKO, that will accept the torque of your engine.

The last option is a Tremec T56 like the ones you can find it in 90Th´s camaros, some Corvettes, ate Astom Martin V12 and in the Chrisler Viper.

The choice is yours, but any of them will cope with the torque, I prefer the TKO or the T 56, at least the last two speeds will help you to run at high speeds without stop every 100 miles for refuelling.

Hope this help.

Jesus

RE: Which Gear Box

Jesus,
Thanks for our advice, what do you know of borg warner r380's I believe they are used commonly in Land rovers and Range rovers do you know if they will be up to it. By the way I have had the engine tested and it pruduced 470lbs/ft at 3500 revs.
look forward to your reply

RE: Which Gear Box

Hi Barrie.
I don't think the Rover box will be upto the job, not with that much torque.
