fuel rating and oil cooler

hi guys any ideas on what is the correct fuel to be using on a 1978 ford 302? runs fine with unleaded in but not sure what year it was introduced to this engine. the engine came out of a mustang with 1 2bl carb and an emissions cannister of some sort was in the system any ideas greatly appreciated
:tu also any tips on oil cooler kits for the gd427

I can't be entirely sure but I think by 1978 all US engines would have unleaded.
