| Supercharging RV8 Hi all, Ive ordered a head unit to blow my RV8, hopefully not literally! Ive been looking through the archives, etc, to see what to do with the crank case breather, but the thread I found didn't say a great deal. At the moment I have a filter on one rocker cover and on the other side is a flame trap that is fed into the intake before the throttle plate. My question is do I keep the same setup or do I have to do something else? If I have to do something else what is it? Thanks, Phil

| RE: Supercharging RV8 Contrary Mary Phil, have got some knowledge of blown engines although not an expert. As you say you really need to reduce the crank case compression unlike a two stroke engine with your intended application. Also beneficial to get rid of those nasties that are created and keep the oil clean as possible. Although my engine is normally aspirated I designed a PCV system that works well, although a little weak on tick over. It may well suit you're needs. Air comes on through two Morsco breathers at the front of the covers, there are two outlets at the rear leading into a purpose built ally block which a Reel Steel Morsco PCV valve sits in and then one connection taking the fumes away into a tee piece in the brake servo vacuum pipe. Hoping I can upload the attachment as its on the limit Eric. P/S I have a block already made if you want it, but it will need an ally ring making up to slot in the hole as it was too big to seal the valve O ring |

| RE: Supercharging RV8 thanks for that, have you got a picture of it? I think im right in saying that my vacuum line to my brake servo will be under pressure when on boost, so I was wondering whether I could attach it into the intake near the air filter as this will never see boost pressure? How much do you want for your bits you have? Phil

| RE: Supercharging RV8 Contrary Mary Sorry Phil, uploaded the wrong one (UP COCK!) Eric. |

| RE: Supercharging RV8 I can see it better now, thanks. So where did the PCV valve come from? Are these used on any modern car? Just read your post again, you got it from Realsteel, I must learn to read! Phil

| RE: Supercharging RV8 Contrary Mary Phil, should have picture of block by now by now!!!?? You can have the block FOC just buy me a pint for the postage some time. I cant see a problem with tee-ing it into the servo pipe blown or not, but if you prefer find a good vacuum point; there is one at the rear of most RV8 manifolds as long as it comes out below the butterfly's that should be okay. You will also need some brass connections as I have which are available from Think Automotive at Isleworth Middx (BSPT). Send me an email with your details address etc, ericandliz.rayner@ntlworld.com and I can also send pictures of more of the set up as they are two large for the site and I'm a dumb #### re cropping pictures are concerned!! Not going to the garage till Thursday but I will rake it out and post to you on the week end. The system works extremely well for me thats all I can say Eric. |

| RE: Supercharging RV8 Contrary Mary Phil, yes Reel Steel and its in there catalog and its Morsco you will just need to get that first and have a reduction ring made up in ally so it will seal, this was the first one made and my engineering colleague got the size wrong all will become clear when you see the block.
