| Fuel Pump Location I've just dropped in my 351c into my AK chasis for the first time. Everything is ok apart from thr fuel pump inlet and out let are about 1mm from the chassis rails. has anyone else had this problem, do different pump manufacturers have different inlet and outlet positions? | RE: Fuel Pump Location I had not planned to fit an electric pump, but it's looking as though I will need to. What additional plumbing will I need, do I need a return line to maintain pump flow or can the pump live with low/no flows OK, or does it trip out once a discharge pressure is met. Mick |

| RE: Fuel Pump Location Mick, I have an electric pump (Holley 97 gph - sold by Real Steel) It is mounted near the tank and pulls through a filter with no pressure regulator cut off. It pumps straight through to my Holley 600. One safety tip to think of when you do the wiring however is to run the live feed to the pump through a relay with a switch taken from your oil pressure sender (assuming you have the capilliary type you can get take offs for the capilliary pipe and which incorporate a low pressure switch). That way when you lose oil pressure unexpectedly (say after a crash....) and the engine stalls the fuel pump will stop pumping fuel even when the ignition remains on. You can also link the oil pressure waring light to the same relay so that when there is no oil pressure you get the warning light and no fuel pump, but when you get oil pressure the lamp goes out and you get power to the fuel pump.
