Rev counter

Is it possible to modify a rev counter from a 6 cylinder Jag (Smiths) to work with an 8 cylinder engine.
Anyone tried it ?

Speedy Cables does them (aka caerbont/cai/smiths)if you don't want to do it yourself (sorry no idea on the diy front)

Ive designed a circuit to drive a rev counter from a 4, 6, 8 cylinder engine. Its on my website. (See below) Actually sent it in to Snake Torque but was never used so carnt be of much interest!!

I thought a lot of the new techo's were completely configurable to run 4,6 or 8 (certainly mine is). Perhaps that's why....
