RV8 PCV valve ?

Hi Guys,

I am converting my Rover V8 to the Weber four barrel carb and have been looking at using a PCV valve as recommended by a number of you on the website.

I have noticed that the oil filler cap has the same thread as the rocker cover and therefore am looking at using a second filler cap screwed directly into the rocker cover with a hole bored through the middle to accept the PCV valve.

My question is, can anyone see why this would not work ? do I need the steel wool found in the standard flame trap or would the PCV valve stop any oil finding it’s way up into the carb ?

Any feedback ???

P.S. Anyone got a secondhand oil filler cap I can blag ?

RE: RV8 PCV valve ?

Paul,

I used the bottom threaded part of the filler ‘neck’ it is just about the right size for the PCV valve. Then screwed the cap directly into the rocker cover,(after removing the orange plastic).

You just need to file out the two ‘lugs’

Check out the two attachments, or my web site

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Thanks

RE: RV8 PCV valve ?

I used a pcv valve from North Hants Tyres which fitted into the top of the flame trap, held in place with a Jubilee clip.
A very easy fix.
