Inner wishbone mount??????

As I,ve posted elsewhere I'm just starting to recon my back axle.
On removing the wishbone I found the pivot brkts both loose. They are both wired so the bolts could'nt come any looser but it did'nt seem right. When I checked the "new" Dif I found the same thing. This dif has just come out of an '87 jag(worked out from the date stamp inside the dif cover).
Has anyone else noticed this and cured it.The manual says 60lb torque plus wires so I would'nt have thought the bolts would come loose, but seems a coincidence on 2 difs.
I think I'll wack a load of thread lock in to be safe.

RE: Inner wishbone mount??????

My father has worked on Jaguars for more than 30 years. He told me that it is a common problem and wiring is not the cure, it will just prevent it from falling apart. He used Loctite when we assembled my back axel. It’s not bullet proof but better than wires alone.

RE: Inner wishbone mount??????

My father avoids the shims since they usually just increase the chance that things come loose.
