Vacume advance?

Hi.

I know it`s been mentioned before but anyone with RV8 running without vacume advance connected. The dam thing gets in the way of the rad top hose on the inlet manifold,is it possible to remove it alltogether from the dizzy (lucas 35DE8 , I know it`s old but it works fine )
All it seems to do is make fine tuning of the timing a bit of a pig}( }(

Tony.

RE: Vacume advance?

Hi,
had mine connected but it didnt work as there was a hole in the diaphram. Got a new one and it made absolutley no difference to the car,
Phil

RE: Vacume advance?

You can remove it by removing the 2 screws that hold it onto the dizzy body, then unhooking the lever off the base plate and pulling it out.
Alternatively leave it on and use it as intended. If you move the dizzy on the drive gear and retime it, the vacuum assembly will move however many teeth you turn it by and miss the coolant pipe! easy :7

regards
Kev
