underslung pipes

I have a Dax with 2" underslung pipes which I much prefer, noise wise, to side pipes on long trips. Unfortunately, with the normal ride hight they wont clear speed humps.
Has anyone tried going from the four into one headers back out to four 1" pipes (gives the same cross sectional area as 2" pipe) underneath the car then back to one pipe for the silencer? With an extra 1/2 inch ride hight to 6" front and 7" rear this would in theory sort the problem and is easy to do.
Comments/advice on sorting this problem much appreciated

RE: underslung pipes

Hi there instead of 4 X 1 pipes why not look at box section you should be able to get the sizes you want.
