RE: Stupid SVA exemption question

Paul,

I have already been in touch with you via email regarding the changes you have to make to your 1992 SRV8. I have the same car/same year and can email you the exact requirements and what I did about it right through form application through to failure points and sva parts used (at the worst testing station in UK I personally beleive). Better still Come up and see for yourself. perhaps we good meet at Madgewick??

RE: Stupid SVA exemption question

HI Robin.
Apparently Southampton is a real No No, Totally Kit Racial. Gillingham is supposed to be OK! Thats where Tony Holmes takes the Sumos.

RE: Stupid SVA exemption question

Gosh, once again Im rather shocked and confused at what I see on this technical forum for what I thought was a friendly club. Perhaps it is because I am new and dont know all the charecters. I really didnt want to start a personal argument or see one on a technical forum.
Anyway, as an outsider I thought I should just explain how I see this.

I am building a car and really would appreciate help from others who have been there before and are willing to spend the time. I am not quite so keen on the social side (although of course you make acquaintances in a club which is great).
I would really like to look at the technical part of the forum and only see technical data, with a good heading and good content. This would make it invaluable and something to be proud of. I get really frustrated with these long wandering personal chats or attacks which contribute nothing to the actual question. Perhaps you could arrange an arguments forum and keep this one clean!

I have been reading a lot about SVA because I know I have a car designed before it was a twinkle in some bureaucrats eye. My seatbelt mounts are non existant, my wheel arches will probably need stupid temporary spats etc etc. The info can also be rather bewildering like 19mm radius on the dash if it is not 'non rigid'!!!! and 'specified zones' etc.
Specific help on these matters will be hugely appreciated and I plan to ask them in separate questions as they arise to help others be able to search the archives of the forum and find the data like I would love to do !

So please be nice to each other and please feel free to help if you think you are being constructive to a TECHNICAL issue. I have lots of them!

(Hope I have not upset anyone I really dont want to start the arguments forum!!!!!)
